3 days of West Vlaanderen Back to news items

2 march 2012 - 16:03

The prologue of seven kilometers showed the same headline as the GP Samyn two days earlier: the Lotto Belisol youngsters are performing well. The winner was the Polish rider Michal Kwiatowski in a time of exactly 8 minutes. First Lotto Belisol rider in the ranking was Sander Cordeel, and also our other youngsters were looking good. Dennis Vanendert was most probably still a little bit tired of his long breakaway two days earlier in GP Samyn. He started off too fast and didn't manage to keep up the pace. Fréderique Robert took it easy after the problems he had with his back, that kept him of his bike for ten days. But what about Mehdi Sohrabi! After his problems returning to Belgium (he arrived from Iran two days later than planned), the Iranian slept for 16 hours. He still wasn't 100% fit when he came to the start of the prologue, but managed to deliver a very nice performance. We surely haven't seen the last of our Asian newcomer!
